Summer 2012 Opportunities
High School Internship Program 2012
This program focuses on providing high school students with their first opportunity to work at a nonprofit's office, where they will be working on initiatives that will help empower them, other high school students, and youth in Cuba.
Team Internship Program 2012
- Development: Our Development Team is sharp and charismatic. These individuals thrive in a networking environment and seek to build strong relationships with potential Roots of Hope supporters. Development focuses on developing efforts and initiatives that will help Roots of Hope with its fundraising and partnership-building.
- Communications: Being our hip social media gurus and enthusiasts, Communications brands our image across all social networking platforms, protecting the consistency of our messaging. Facebook is their terrain, tweeting and hashtagging away are their trades, blogging is their hobby... keeping our networks in the-know on a regular basis is their mission.
- Business Operations: Love being an entrepreneur? Our Business Operations Team is our lean, fast-paced, well-oiled machine; it serves as the backbone of Roots of Hope. This Team focuses on keeping all financial and legal matters up to date while developing Roots of Hope's Human Capital Department. While the Team is small, there is nothing Business Operations can't handle.
- Programming: Every Team's mission has one final goal: to bring us one step closer to the island. Our Programming Team builds the bridge between us and our counterparts in Cuba through innovative, educational, and cultural activities. If you hate sitting on the sidelines and look to be in the middle of the action, Programming is for you!
- Student Network: Our strength is our people. Our Student Network Team is our liaison between Roots of Hope and college students across the United States... and even Cuba. Student works tirelessly to inspire youth all around in hopes that they will continue to help us pursue our mission: to empower youth in Cuba to become the authors of their own futures.
- ROOTs Network: We love seeing our Roots through college, graduation, and then move on to changing the world. The ROOTs Network is our team of young professionals across the nation seeking to inspire others to take this movement beyond their college campuses and into their lifestyles through events, fundraisers... and even marathons! They can be found in Miami, New York, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles... and Madrid!
Fellowship Program 2012
Our third-annual fellowship program is an intense leadership-in-practice training opportunity for students and young professionals. The fellowship focuses on projects across all of Roots' departments, thus giving fellows an insider's grasp of our heartbeat and a chance to create real impact in our organization! Fellows will also be exposed to influential mentors and coaches ranging from Roots' Senior Leadership team to some of Miami's most respected business, political, community, and artistic leaders.
