Young Professionals

After graduating from college, many former Raíces student leaders wanted to remain active. In 2005, Raíces established a young professionals (YP) network of former alumni from Cuban-American student groups and YPs interested in the cause. Raíces YPs share a united identity, vision and agenda and assist in spreading awareness, recruiting and fundraising.

Our expansive network also offers members the ability to secure leading professional, civic and educational post-graduate opportunities. Currently, the network spans more than 900 young professionals in Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami. Student Network

Cuban student activism has played an important role in shaping history both in the U.S. and Cuba. Many Cuban-American student groups in the U.S. have been around for decades. However, in 2003, Cuban-American students from across the country gathered at Harvard and formed a network of student associations to support and coordinate with one another. The network took the name of the conference: Raíces de Esperanza. In 2005, Raíces de Esperanza was incorporated as a fund to support the student network and its autonomous groups. Currently, the network spans more than 1,900 students at 55 campuses. For more information, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
